October 6th Gilbert Art Walk
it was great seeing everyone again!
Hope to see you at one of the many events this fall/winter season.
Visit the "Upcoming Events" tab for details.
Read the Voyage Phoenix article here!
I had so much fun at this event! It was the holiday weekend and Shop Small Business Saturday. I loved meeting new custmers in the north/east valley and am looking so forward to doing another event with Jackalope! It was a great organized event! Here are some pictures from the event.
We had a blast attending our 4th Front Porch Pickins event! Loved meeting all kinds of people and making some great friends and customers along the way! Can't wait until the next FPPVM in February 2017 at the stadium. Until then check the event page above in the tabs to meet up with us at another fun event.
New "hoop house" that hubby made for me earlier this season.
Summertime has shade cloth and wintertime has greenhouse plastic.
Tomatoes were so heavy this summer and tall that I had to tie them to the top of the hoop house!
Making Gentle Facial Cream...all natural with organic ingredients.
Started with melting coconut oil and beeswax then add almond oil, apricot oil and grapeseed oil into blender. Emulsify with distilled water, aloe vera, helichrysum hydrosol, geranium essential oil and vitamin E oil.
Pour into jars...Perfect!
I love this simple face cream inspired by Rosemary Gladstar's Perfect Cream!
To say the least she is the modern day "MOTHER of ALL-THINGS NATURAL HOLISTIC AND GOOD" is an understatement!
I am Rochelle (Ro, please), owner of Found Treasures and Artful Creations and Simply Made By Ro.
I am a stay-at-home wife of a hard working hubby and mommy of an energetic autistic boy!
I have been involved in the farmer's market "industry" since I was a child while living in rural Wisconsin. My parents and grandpa were beekeepers and had a business selling our honey and beeswax back in the late 1970s-1980s. Life was much simpler then! We had chickens, a vegetable garden, canned, traded eggs and honey for raw milk, jams and meat.
Fast forward now a "few" decades...
I decided after getting out of the Air Force that I would go to college. I earned my science degree and went into the medical field. I have worked in the medical field in the areas of sports medicine (specifically working for the professional football, basketball and baseball teams locally) as well as laboratory and medical research for the past 20+ years.
Then I became a wife and mommy and…well… priorities changed.
I decided after years of working in the "rat race" that I would stay home and raise our son. At age 2 we found out that he was autistic. My priorities changed yet again to become an advocate for him and to advise other families on how to do the same.
Through the challenges of parenting a special needs child I have discovered that certain smells and synthetic or artificial ingredients can trigger undesired responses. We found that aromatherapy, essential oils and getting back to the basics HELPED!
So here we are now!
I started Found Treasures and Artful Creations, SimplyMadeByRo.com to promote natural products and satisfy my repurposing furniture and crafting addiction.
I guess that simpler way of life I grew up with...a time when you knew where your food and products came from…was pulling at my soul.
We need to start decreasing our dependency on synthetics and chemicals. This is a BETTER way and I want to help with that “movement". I feel that by creating eco-friendly natural soaps, bath and body luxuries…I can do that! Using the best available ingredients for example, from my garden and knowing WHERE they came from and able to pronounce them is HOW!
By the way, I still feed my repurposing, up cycling and crafting addiction from time to time as you can see on the FaceBook feed. and in creating my unique pebble art pieces.
