The most popular clay for facial masks. This clay is said to help balance the skin's excess oil production but yet is gentle and appeals to those with sensitive skin.
French Green Clay:
This clay is said to be very cleansing. This clay is recommended for those with oily or combination dry/oily skin.
French Red Clay:
This clay contains iron and is often used by those with oily skin and people with "tougher" skin i.e.: men.
This is said to be the best for ALL skin types.
Essential Oils, Extracts and Infused Oils
We use the highest quality essential oils, extracts and infused oils. Most of the ingredients used are organic (when available).
I create my own infused oils. For example, most arnica oils available for purchase online offer a very dilute less effective oil. I infused dried arnica flowers in jojoba, grape seed and olive oil for 1 month to get a great rich oil.
I grow many of the botanicals and other herbal ingredients right in my own organic garden here in Arizona. Our Munstead Lavender, Loofah, Calendula, Rosemary, Peppermint and Spearmint are grown year round.
Whipped Body Butters, Sugar Scrubs and other products-
These products use various butters and oils and can and will melt at temperatures over 80F. Keep products in a cool dark place and not in direct sunlight or near heat sources as these will cause melting and degrading of the essential oils in the products.
Keep water out of your product. Water by nature contains contaminants and can cause mold and mildew to appear in your product. The emulsified sugar scrub is the only product that has a natural preservative added but still use the same precautions of keeping water out! Use the provided spoons/scoops to keep your products as clean and dry as possible.
We use glass as our product containers because plastic containers can be degraded by the essential oils and butters in our products. Why introduce plastic into a natural product… Please use caution when handling the glass jars with potentially slippery oils on your hands. Best recommendation is to keep the containers OUT of the shower. The lids of the jars are metal and may rust.
We use a variety of butters and oils in whipped body meringue. Many people are used to applying A LOT of skin care products to their bodies, however, with our products a SMALL amount goes a LONG way! Start with a fingertip full of product and test if it feels heavy or greasy once soaking into the skin or if it is residue free. If you feel greasy decrease the amount you use.
Do not apply ANY product to open, raw or otherwise non-healing skin or wounds. The remedy rub should only be used after a scab has formed.
As with any product consult your physician or pediatrician prior to using.
